Horse Retirement Home
Having been involved with horses all my life; I felt there was a need to offer horses and ponies that still have quality of life but for whatever reasons are unable to be ridden, a home of rest or retirement within the Home Counties area.
This service also extends to horses and ponies who perhaps have sustained an injury but who still require daily attention and need the peace and tranquillity away from a busy livery yard during their recovery.

The uninterrupted views are stunning. There are no train or aeroplane noises, no DIY liveries coming and going... just one carefully set routine provided by the same qualified, highly experienced, dedicated personnel for all the horses and ponies ensuring a harmonious place of rest.
As we all get older, routine becomes vitally important to us to enable us to feel safe and at ease. We appreciate horses and ponies have the same needs for this routine, they thrive on it. This in turn provides safety and comfort to them, just as the older person feels safe in a retirement home with familiar faces and peaceful surroundings. Our permanent residents are kept together where possible, thus forming friendships, bonds and security.
Our resting residents are able to have individual turnout to ensure they are kept as calm and safe as possible. We have experience in many illnesses/diseases both progressive and acute for example: laminitis, cushings, sarcoids, general lameness issues, back and tendon injuries, arthritis, navicular disease and cancer to name but a few and we are able to monitor these conditions fully.
